We are very happy to announce that Thomas Mathenia, retired CTO of Energieversorgung Oberhausen AG and deeply involved in the German utility sector as well as Eugen Hahn Owner and CEO of Lemetco GmbH have joined Volterion by way of a Business Angel investment. We are very much looking forward to working with these successfull business leaders and benefiting from their experience in the utilities, energy storage and materials industry. This latest Angel investment increases our total funds raised to €2.3 million, which includes non-dilutive grants and significant equity investments from the founders and Fraunhofer Venture.
Happy to announce that Volterion, together with Fraunhofer UMSICHT Institute and German utility Stadtwerke Herne AG, has secured a €1.3 million grant from the State of North Rhine-Westphalia. The consortium has received the funding for developing, installing and integrating Redox-Flow-Batteries in larger residential and commercial buildings. The project is part of the „SMART-TEC-STWH“-Initiative of Stadtwerke Herne, which offers its customers new energy efficient solutions via innovative business models like battery swarm solutions. As part of the project Volterion will be installing its RFB-Systems in various residential and commercial buildings in the Herne district of North Rhine-Westphalia.
